Mark'Quis Frazier has been hired to the track and field staff.

STARKVILLE – The Mississippi State track and field program and head coach Chris Woods has added Mark'Quis Frazier to the coaching staff, announced Friday.

Frazier, a three-time USTFCCCA and NJCAA National and Regional Assistant Coach of the Year, will work with the Bulldog sprinters.

He spent one year with Alabama's sprint group for the 2020 season, which was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Prior to being in Tuscaloosa, he spent two seasons as an assistant at his alma mater, Barton Community College. There, he helped lead the Cougars to two NJCAA team titles and four runner-up finishes. During his time coaching at Barton, the Cougars had 19 national champions.

Before returning to his alma mater, he had a stint at Iowa Central Community College in the 2017 season, where he helped guide them to an NJCAA team title.

Frazier's collegiate career began at Barton as a part of the program's 50th National Championship during his freshman campaign. He went on to win the 2011 NJCAA Outdoor 200m title with a time of 20.38, the third-fastest collegiate time in the nation at any level that season.

Following his time at Barton, he attended the University of Houston where he was an NCAA Championship qualifier in the 100m and the 4x400m relay, also running on the Cougars' 2012 C-USA Outdoor Championship squad. He finished his collegiate career at Baylor, earning All-America honors as a member of the Bears 4x100m relay team. He graduated from Baylor in 2014 with his bachelor's in education.

After his collegiate career came to a close, he spent three years in the professional ranks, competing as a member of the 2014 Nigerian world relay team and at the 2015 Commonwealth Games.

A native of Dallas, Texas, he ran for Lancaster High School and was the 2008 and 2009 district, regional and state champion, set the 100m school record, and was a member of the 2009 4x100m relay USA Junior Olympic Championship squad.
