JavU’s Horsford Wins Bronze in 2021 Junior Pan American Games

STARKVILLE – Redshirt junior Tyriq Horsford captured a bronze medal in the javelin Tuesday morning at the 2021 Junior Pan American Games.
 
Hailing from Parlatuvier, Trinidad and Tobago, the back-to-back First-Team Outdoor All-American threw a mark of 71.33 meters, 0.09 inches off his mark from the 2019 u20 Pan Am Games (71.42m).
 
During his 2021 Outdoor season for the Maroon and White, Horsford finished second at the Bulldog Relays with a throw of 74.77m. Later in the season, he recorded a season-best of 75.51m at the NCAA East Prelims where he finished third to qualify for Eugene; that throw was also the fifth-best all-time for a prelim via USTFCCCA. During the NCAA Championships, Horsford finished fourth with a season-best throw of 75.95m to earn Second Team All-American.
