"We are so excited to finally welcome Shea to the Bulldog family," head coach Samantha Ricketts said. "She has been on our radar for a while now and has worked hard and battled through adversity to get here. She is an elite athlete that will bring a mix of power and speed to our lineup and can play multiple positions. Shea is a competitor and dominated at the junior college level this past year, and we can't wait to have her join us in Starkville."

Moreno played the shorted 2020 season at San Mateo (Calif.) Community College where she struck out just once and posted a 1.413 OPS. She was also among the top 10 in California in hits, home runs and total bases. She batted .487 in 23 games while driving in 25 runs. She stole 33 bases, which led the state, on her way to scoring 39 runs, which ranked second.

Moreno spent her freshman season at UCLA in 2019 but did not see game action. She was an accomplished athlete at Sheldon High School in Sacramento, California where she was a four-year letterwinner in softball and spent three seasons on the volleyball team. Moreno hit .441 over her prep career with 15 homers and 129 RBIs.
