October 16, 2017 | Men's Basketball

STARKVILLE, Miss. — When Mississippi State takes the stage in Nashville on Wednesday for the annual SEC Basketball Media Day, Quinndary Weatherspoon and Lamar Peters will be representing the Bulldogs.

The two standouts, along with third-year coach Ben Howland, will begin their rotations at 11 a.m. CT. It will be the second appearance for Weatherspoon and the first for Peters.

"It's a crazy event, but it's fun and you have to have fun with it," Weatherspoon said. "It also means the games are closer to starting."

The junior from Canton, Miss., led MSU with his 16.5 scoring clip en route to earning second-team All-SEC honors. He also led the Bulldogs with 50 steals and 926 minutes played.

Peters, a sophomore from New Orleans, was second with his 10.7 scoring average and led MSU with 59 made 3-pointers.

Mississippi State, coming off a 16-16 campaign, returns four starters from a year ago. The season opener is set for Nov. 10 against Alabama State.
